Amazon’s recently launched AI product, Amazon Quick, faces a similar fate to its earlier product, WorkDocs, and may struggle in a highly competitive market. WorkDocs, a cloud-based document collaboration service launched in 2015, was discontinued in April 2025 due to poor user experience and low market penetration. Amazon seems to have failed to learn from its past mistakes, as its latest AI product faces similar challenges upon entering the market.
Amazon Quick’s core features include natural language querying, data analytics, and custom workflow applications, and it integrates with AWS services such as Bedrock and SageMaker. While it boasts over 1 million active users in Q1 2026, its growth has slowed due to market saturation. Meanwhile, competitors like GitHub Copilot and Google Gemini hold a larger market share, with over 50 million and 35 million users respectively.
According to the latest report, Amazon Quick users have reported several issues, including insufficient accuracy and high subscription fees, which have led many potential users to question its viability. Experts point out that while Amazon excels in backend technology, its user interface and overall experience still need improvement.
Furthermore, the timing of Amazon Quick’s launch is also detrimental to its market performance, as the AI hype is expected to cool down after 2025, leading to increasingly fierce market competition. Although Amazon has a certain foundation within the AWS ecosystem, the success of its products still depends on actual user engagement and market acceptance.
